Day 37: Mon,
7/17: Breckenridge and Frisco Adventure
Park, CO
After breakfast, we rode our
bikes across the highway to the paved bike path and rode 4 miles to the Frisco
Adventure Park—a free mountain bike area with more BMX style pump tracks with
jumps, berms, and wooden structures. We
had fun riding the bumps and berms and pushing our mountain biking skills—including
small jumps. Poor Andrea had a pretty
bad fall when she lost her concentration on a straight-forward turn. She scraped her shoulder, elbow, and knee and
bruised her hip. But, our tough girl
recovered after about 10 minutes and was back at it riding the jumps and
courses. We all stopped after a second
lightening bold and thunder clap in the not-too-far distance and when it began
raining hard. So we went to Walmart for groceries/supplies and
headed home for dinner. We cooked 4 grilled 4 trout we caught the night before--they were great! After dinner, we
all watched the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Andrea and I love this movie with its simple
message of exploration, adventure, and being in the moment. The kids liked it too. They're continuing to understand these values we’re trying to
instill. We then played poker—Ryan’s new
favorite game.
